About Me

My Photo
I am an aspiring photographer with an avid interest in people, literature, international issues, and learning. My free time is either spent watching some boring :) documentary, taking pictures of people and places, or exploring the Internet.

Spring is on its way!

Below is a photo I took at my parents' apartment complex in Toledo. It may still be chilly, but the clouds are breaking up and I can finally see the sun most days!

Still waiting on grad school funding information, as well as the final decision on whether I will get a credit toward my Habitat for Humanity trip to Portugal. No matter what, I'm excited for the future.

In other news: AmeriCorps might be cut from the federal budget next year. While I agree it's not the most economically efficient program, it is still really valuable. AmeriCorps gives each generation of college students the opportunity to serve with a nonprofit organization, where they can experience in service that they can then take with them to their (presumably) for-profit careers. It's a great way to inject a little humanitarianism into the workforce, so tell your Senators that AmeriCorps should stay. I don't mind if they prune it back a bit, but cutting it entirely will not be a good move.
