McDonald's

That's right, I'm grateful for McDonald's! I know, they're a soulless corporation and I shouldn't support them, but as fast-food chains go they are actually okay. Most of their coffee is fair trade, for instance! And I can't help it, I love the food. More than anything, I love what McDonald's represents: the availability of cheap food in America. Sheer amount of food is clearly not a problem here in the U.S., as there is always a soup kitchen or food bank or, at the least, vegetation growing freely. Poverty is now linked with obesity because food is so cheap, especially low-quality food. In North Korea, starving people can't even find herbs or roots in the forest because 1) it's illegal and 2) the woods are already stripped bare from previous foragers.

I am so thankful that I can just drive around the corner and order 20 chicken nuggets and four small fries for only $5.99!
